A Voice for Hope Davina McCall, 57, took to the podium at All Saints Church in Fulham, sharing her deeply personal experience with an audience united by a common cause: brain tumour awareness. Earlier this month, McCall underwent surgery to remove a benign brain tumour called a colloid cyst, a discovery made during a health scan offered to her in exchange for delivering a menopause talk. Her introduction at the event was both poignant and symbolic, with neurosurgeon Kevin O’Neill — who performed her operation — presenting her. Their connection was evident as McCall embraced O’Neill warmly before stepping forward to share her story. “I’m not going to cry… I’m crying already,” McCall began, candidly acknowledging her emotions. She spoke with heartfelt compassion, acknowledging the struggles of those affected by brain tumours. "Many of you are on your own journey or have lost loved ones to this illness," she shared, reflecting on her own losses, including her sister Caroline in 2012 and her ex-father-in-law last year. In an Instagram post showcasing photos and videos from the night, the charity expressed gratitude to McCall, calling her "a powerful voice for this cause."
