Jenas Goes Public
Jermaine Jenas has shared his first public photo with new girlfriend Anne Leplaideur following the breakdown of his 16-year marriage to Ellie Penfold.
The former England midfielder posted a mirror selfie from Paris with Leplaideur, 31, as they waited for a lift. Their romance reportedly began towards the end of last year, according to The Sun.
Jenas, 43, has been spending more time in the French capital since his split from Penfold, the mother of three of his four children. The separation followed his BBC dismissal over complaints about his conduct and inappropriate messages sent to female colleagues. He later admitted sending sexts, said he was ashamed, and insisted he had done nothing illegal.
Before leaving the BBC, Jenas had established a major media profile through Match of the Day and The One Show, alongside football broadcasting figures such as Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer.
Earlier this year, the former couple’s six-bedroom Barnet home was listed for nearly £5 million. They had bought it for around £3 million in 2006.
Jenas has continued posting from Paris and recently attended Bayern Munich’s Champions League semi-final first leg against Paris Saint-Germain at Le Parc des Princes. He also co-hosts the Wildcards podcast with Jermaine Pennant and has launched a production company.
The former Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur, Nottingham Forest, Aston Villa and Queens Park Rangers player also remains active in golf. He helped Team England retain the Reignwood Icons of Football title in Thailand earlier this year and is due to join James Maddison’s charity tournament at The Centurion Club later this month.
Penfold recently shared an Instagram post during DIY work, writing: “You don't need a man.”
