Concert Clash Goes Viral
A fan has apologized to JoJo Siwa after being asked to leave her Glasgow concert for wearing a hoodie that appeared to mock the singer. The incident took place on 1 October during Siwa’s Infinity Heart tour at the SWG3 TV Studio, where the 22-year-old paused her performance and said, “Thank you for coming, I appreciate it, but we only got room for infinity hearts in here, right? Not in my house, baby.”
Witnesses later shared that the fan had been wearing a hoodie featuring an online meme of Siwa’s face photoshopped onto an egg — an image that has circulated for years on social media and is often used to make fun of her signature hairstyle and hairline from her Dance Moms days.
Over the weekend, a TikTok user under the handle @friendly_musician came forward, claiming to be the person removed from the concert. In a now-viral video, which has been viewed nearly three million times, the fan offered what they described as a “genuine” apology to Siwa, insisting that there was no malicious intent behind their outfit choice.
They explained that they had simply searched “funny JoJo Siwa picture” online and used the first image they found to create a DIY concert hoodie, thinking the singer would find it amusing. The fan added that they hadn’t realized the meme’s history or its potential to upset Siwa, saying they expected her to “laugh at it” rather than take offense.
Siwa’s reaction, however, appeared to stem from a sensitive personal history. The entertainer has been candid about her struggles with self-image and online bullying. In a July TikTok post, she revealed that her hairline was “the number one thing” she was bullied for growing up. She also disclosed in 2022 that a visible bald spot on her scalp had been caused by a stress rash during her time on Dance Moms.
After being escorted out, the fan said they felt anxious and misunderstood, explaining they “never meant to hurt” Siwa and had been “genuinely looking forward” to the show. The viral moment has divided opinions online — some defended Siwa’s right to set boundaries, while others viewed it as an overreaction. Despite the incident, Siwa’s Infinity Heart tour continues, with her next stop in Birmingham on 8 October before heading to Europe through 15 October.
